Traditional Acupuncture
The body, emotions and the way they interact can be understood as one interconnected network.
The idea is to understand, connect the dots and build the session around what your body is expressing today.

My approach
I like to describe my approach to acupuncture as a bit like being a detective.
During a session, I try to connect the different pieces of the puzzle: what you are feeling, your story, your lifestyle, your energy, your sleep, your digestion, your cycle… basically, you.
Pain, fatigue, ongoing stress or functional discomfort rarely exist in isolation.
I use conversation, observation, pulse-taking and tongue observation to help me understand the bigger picture.
The idea is not simply to silence a symptom, but to understand what it may be telling us.
And that overall reading is what guides the way I build the session.
Your system is a network.
When I explain acupuncture, I often compare it to the Paris transport map.
There are several lines, several routes and several ways to get from point A to point B. But there can also be disruptions along the way.
In traditional acupuncture, these lines are the meridians: pathways through which Qi, the vital energy described in traditional Chinese theory, is said to circulate.
Those disruptions can be understood as energetic blockages.
When something becomes blocked or does not circulate as smoothly, the imbalance does not necessarily show up exactly where it started.
That is also why we do not only look at “where it hurts”, but at how the whole system is functioning: your history, sleep, digestion, emotions, cycle, energy, lifestyle, and also how you adapt to the seasons and your environment.
Acupuncture tries to read this network, not just an isolated symptom.
And that is what I find fascinating about it.
What happens during a session?
TALK
The first part of the session is about understanding what brings you in, your story and your context.
OBSERVE & UNDERSTAND
I then complement that conversation with tools used in traditional acupuncture, particularly pulse-taking and tongue observation.
ACT
I then build the session from the day’s assessment, choosing the points according to what I have observed.
